WHO THE HECKEROO IS GOING TO BE IN MY SSI SSDI DISABILITY HEARING ROOM?
- The ALJ or Administrative Law Judge
- This individual will be adjudicating, or judging your claim.
- The Judges Clerk of Court
- This individual will bring you into the hearing room, take notes, and collect documents.
- Your Disability Attorney
- This individual will prepare your brief, examine/cross examine you as the claimant, and make sure your file is complete and timely. If witnesses are necessary and present, the Attorney will examine them at the hearing.
- The Medical Expert
- This individual is rarely present during a hearing, and if present, will supply the court with information relevant as to whether you meet the medical severity requirements under the federal disability law standards.
- The Vocational Expert
- This individual is often present, and provides the court with work history information, and potential work that the claimant may be able to do in the national economy.
