How do I tell if I meet an SSI SSDI listing?
Great question. Truth is, the language used by the listings can be daunting even for those who are medically inclined. First thing, ask, what is my most severe disability. Then ask your attorney for what listing number you likely meet based upon your most severe disability. Then, ask your attorney to outline what the listing requires, and what your strengths and weaknesses are when being compared against the statute. Not every disability out there has a listing level severity outlined in the SSA Federal Code, so some disabilities must either be coupled together with other disabilities, or we must examine the symptoms to see if they meet a broader category listing. Most of you guys will not be found disabled through a listing, but rather through a vocational allowance. That's not a bad thing, it just means that it will take a bit longer to be found disabled. Remember, the ultimate goal is to be found disabled, and then enjoy your disability benefits for as long as you can before something happens in your life.
